Episode 129:
Guests: Kwang Hee (ZE:A), Minho (Shinee), Sulli (f(x)), Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Jong Hyun (CN Blue), Lee Joon (MBLAQ), L (Infinite).
Location: Bucheon and Incheon, Gyeonggi province.
Sled-Skiing Relay Race (Bucheon outdoor sled park): Relay race between Idol and Running Man teams on sleds using mini ski poles for propulsion and as relay batons.
Broom Hockey (Incheon City Hall*): self-explanatory, a hockey game using brooms.
High Dive Board Ski Jump (Songdo Sports Park*): Jump for distance from a high dive board into a swimming pool. The team with the greater accumulated distance wins.
Alternating Attack/Defense Hide and Seek elimination (Incheon National Institute of Biological Resources*): Exactly the same as the first Running Man-a-lympics, except the time between teams alternating hiding and seeking is 10 minutes.
Comments: This is kind of a part two of ep. 104, in which Lee Joon and Jung Yong Hwa were guests. Minho's second RM appearance and Sulli's third appearance, both of whom appeared in ep. 75 (Hallyu Idol Special), whose intro was also similarly done at Gimpo Airport. Jung Yong Hwa's eighth appearance and Lee Jong Hyun's second appearance, both of whom appeared a mere two weeks ago. Lee Joon's fifth appearance. Clever: Infinite's "The Chaser" as BGM when L is chasing Gary.
- Personal note/opinion: As a former rock musician, I can't say I'm a fan of Korean "celebrity idol rock bands", including CN Blue, for reasons too many (and predictable) to mention. However, CN Blue seems to be striving for rock credibility and appeared on Inkigayo the same day as this broadcast in their first time playing live on one of the Korean music shows. For the first time, all of their guitars were plugged in, the guitarists all had pedal boards, proper amps (guitar/bass) were on stage and turned on, overhead mics and drum mics were all visible, and the drummer is playing with drum sticks and not hot rods. And they totally ripped through their performance (playing songs I think they wrote or co-wrote) with an energy I hadn't seen from them before. I ain't sayin' I'm now a CN Blue fan, my standards for rock music are still much higher than for corporate manufactured K-pop (and I'm not convinced the wear and tear on the singer and the lead guitarist's Strats are from their own playing of the instruments (and two Strats both going through Marshall amps are also suspicious, although not impossible, regarding whether they have distinct ideas of what they want their sound to be)), but I definitely have to give up some props to them. They can play and they're tight.
